A Welcome From Our President
Welcome to the official website of the Beta Tau Lambda Chapter, the 162nd House of
Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Since the chapter’s inception on December 4, 1940, we
have been committed to serving the Greater Fort Worth and Tarrant County community.
A legacy has been built based on that commitment and effectively carried out through
the work of legendary BTL brothers whose work over the course of decades has
improved the economic and social condition of our communities in Fort Worth and
Tarrant County. Men such as Brother Reby Cary, Brother Kerven W. Carter and Brother
Marion Brooks to mention just a few, have literally shaped the community in which we
live.
Today, Beta Tau Lambda continues the rich legacy of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
through our national programs and signature events. Our Alpha Academy mentorship
program, Alpha Academy, Alpha Beautillion, Dr. Marion J. Brooks Living Legends
Awards, social action efforts through A Voteless People is A Hopeless People and
various community service projects are just some of the key chapter initiatives
impacting the community. Our reach is magnified through the Beta Tau Lambda
Charitable Foundation and the Livingston Community Development Foundation.
Beta Tau Lambda leads Fort Worth and Tarrant County through the servant leadership
of brothers who have been elected to serve at the County and City level as well as on
various school boards. Tarrant County Commissioner Precinct One Commissioner
Roderick Miles, Jr., City of Mansfield Mayor Michael Evans, FWISD School Board
Trustee Quincy Phillips, Tarrant County College Board Trustee Leonard Hornsby are
leading Tarrant County with excellence.
If your organization has interest in partnering with Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. to
help positively impact the greater Fort Worth and Tarrant County community please
contact me at president@fwalphas.org
If you are a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. living in the Greater Fort Worth
area but not currently active, we ask that you join us as we continue this good work.
Thank you for visiting our site and may God bless you.
